Kushhali project is underway since September 2009 in five villages of Hardoi district and is funded by DCM Shriram Consolidated Limited (DSCL), Hariyawan.
The project aims at inculcating interest among the people in the project villages about health, bring about permanent improvement in health of women and children and reduce maternal and infant mortality rate.
Project components include:
- Health education and awareness, including personal hygiene, domestic cleanliness, environmental cleanliness, and freedom from superstitions and bad customs
- Importance of nutrition, including iodine salt, anaemia, safe drinking water, diarrhoea management
- Immunisation of children and pregnant women
All this work is being done by constituting health committees, which regularly hold meetings and workshops.
